Is BioLPG traceable as a renewable fuel?

Calor BioLPG is approved in accordance with the European Union Renewable Energy Directive (‘EU-RED’) and is a fully traceable renewable fuel. The production of BioLPG is compliant with the sustainability requirements of ‘EU-RED’ on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources. This Directive specifies sustainability requirements for biofuels and bioliquids in the European Union and includes a strict feed stock verification scheme which is approved by the European Commission. In terms of government incentives - BioLPG has been approved by UK government as a sustainable renewable fuel and also with the Irish Government which means that it is exempt from Carbon Tax.

How can I use BioLPG in my business?

Calor BioLPG can be used for any business in exactly the same way conventional LPG. It is delivered in bulk to an on-site storage tank. It is also available in some Calor gas cylinders including those for fork lift trucks and also for leisure use. BioLPG is chemically identical to conventional LPG so the two fuels can be stored and then delivered together, utilising a process known as ‘mass balance’. This is a common practice for the supply and distribution of renewable fuels which is used to ensure that the supply chain is as efficient as possible. Distribution is fully audited and only the amount of renewable fuel which goes into the supply chain can be sold. The key factor is that by purchasing renewable energy, you are displacing conventional, non-renewable energy.
