Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme

Understanding the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS)

Through schemes like the EEOS, Calor are committed to supporting homes and businesses in achieving their energy efficiency goals.

What is the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme?

The Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS) is a government initiative designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption. Under this scheme, energy suppliers and distributors, known as Obligated Parties, are required to implement energy-saving measures to meet specific targets. These measures help lower energy bills, reduce carbon footprints, and promote sustainable energy use for customers. Calor are an obligated party under the scheme.

How does the EEOS benefit you?

As a customer, the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme offers several advantages:

  • Lower Energy Bills

Energy-saving measures help reduce your overall energy consumption, leading to lower bills.
  • Improved Comfort

Upgrades such as better insulation and efficient heating systems can enhance the comfort of your home or workplace.
  • Environmental Impact

By reducing energy use, you contribute to lowering greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change.
  • Access to Incentives

Some energy efficiency projects may be eligible for financial incentives or rebates, making it more affordable to implement energy-saving improvements.

What measures are included?

Energy suppliers might implement various measures under the EEOS, including:

  • Insulation Upgrades: Improving insulation in walls, roofs, and floors to reduce heat loss.
  • Energy-Efficient Appliances: Encouraging the use of energy-efficient appliances such as LED lighting, energy-saving boilers, and advanced heating systems.
  • Have you recently switched to Calor for your home heating? If so, please contact us for more information.
  • Smart Meters: Installing smart meters to help you monitor and manage your energy usage more effectively.
