Calor Customer Spotlight: Salthouse Hotel

The Salthouse Hotel is a family run and owned luxury, boutique hotel, which launched in 2019 after significant investment, is located in Ballycastle, Co. Antrim and boasts stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. This beautiful hotel is easily accessible with just a one-hour drive from Belfast and a three-hour drive from Dublin.

The stunning eco-friendly property has 24 large bedrooms where guests can relax, unwind and soak up the panoramic views that surround the property. For visitors who prefer a little more independence and privacy, the Salthouse offers an alternative accommodation with six three-bedroom eco-lodges on site to allow for complete tranquillity and escape from the outside world.

For some additional luxury during your time at the Salthouse, guests can enjoy a trip to the hotel’s spa which has three stunning treatment rooms, or a dip in one of the hotel’s outdoor hot tubs, providing the opportunity to shake off the cares and stress of everyday life.

Sustainability is incorporated into all aspects of operations at the Salthouse. The hotel has its own wind turbine which emits 225KW of energy. Water and heating in the hotel are also fully supplied by the hotel’s solar panel array. In addition, the Salthouse operates its own well onsite, which delivers fresh, filtered water to the hotel each day.

Furthermore, throughout the hotel, a number of Ilimex air sterilisation machines are in operation to ensure the purest of air is filtered around the hotel. This gives real peace of mind to guests. The Salthouse also has charging stations for electric vehicles for guests who wish to reduce emissions.

The Salthouse has been a Calor BioLPG customer since 2019. The hotel uses Calor BioLPG, our 100% certified renewable energy to power the hotel’s kitchen equipment and back up heating source.

Speaking about sustainability at the hotel, Claire Steele, Marketing Manager said; “We are so proud of the many different measures we have implemented across the hotel to help reach our sustainability goals. One of the key steps was starting with Calor BioLPG 100% renewable energy. The process was seamless and we have been thrilled with the impact on our carbon footprint.”

For homeowners who want to make a difference, you can choose Calor BioLPG, our 100% renewable gas. If you make the move to Calor BioLPG before August 31st, you will receive a €250 / £250 hotel voucher for one of our participating hotels, including The Salthouse Hotel. Calor BioLPG is perfect for homes and businesses aiming to reduce their carbon footprint, and is identical in appearance and performance to conventional LPG.
