SPACE HEATING

Space Heating

When it comes to heating space in a commercial or industrial environment, the versatility of Calor Gas means it can power a range of high quality systems that will deliver an efficient and effective space heating solution to suit your premises.

Direct Fired Heaters

LPG purity enables the use of direct fired air heaters, which can achieve over 90% efficiency. Direct fired air heaters are used to heat fresh air and are ideal for locations with high ventilation rates. Typical applications include exhibition halls, churches, swimming pools and commercial kitchens.

Fresh air is drawn into the heater and heated as it is passed over a gas burner. The heated air is then discharged into a distribution duct or via directional grilles to the point where it is required. For added flexibility the system can also be used to supply fresh unheated air for summertime ventilation.

Indirect Fired Heaters

Indirect fired heaters can be considered for use in well sealed industrial and commercial units with low air change rates, or as warm curtains, for example over loading bays in factories and warehouses. They heat the air in a packaged unit, warm air being generated by a gas burner which then fires into a heat exchanger. There are room sealed fan flued options, allowing horizontal and vertical flueing configurations for optimum flexibility.

Radiant Heating

Gas fired radiant heaters are a perfect example of the flexibility of Calor Gas powered heating systems. They are available in tube or plaque form and provide heat instantly and economically. The infrared heat, which they radiate, directly warms the people, machinery or surfaces in its path. There is no energy wastage as they do not heat the air space high above the targeted areas. When it is necessary to heat a precise location within any industrial or commercial premises, a radiant heating system is the most direct form of heating available.

Radiant heaters operate without air movement and are the ideal solution in areas where a clean atmosphere is a prime requirement as dust circulation is eliminated. A further contribution to a pleasant working environment and the comfort of staff and customers is that radiant systems are almost silent in operation producing none of the noises that are so common among fan assisted systems.
